Bob began his career in remodeling at the age of 5 (or so he is told!) picking up rotted apples in the backyard of an investment property his father had just purchased. By 10 years old, Bob was working with all of the trades including concrete work, running electrical wires in tight crawl spaces and attics, and performing as a plumber's helper. A year after graduating from high school at Burlington County Vo-Tech for building trades and cabinet making, Bob picked up and moved to Ocean City, NJ to pursue his interest in surfing. He quickly joined a local remodeling company and spent 18 months there learning the techniques used to build at the shore. After gaining experience with several other companies, Bob launched his own company, Matera Builders in 1988. He began by "pounding nails on every job" six days a week. He met with homeowners on Saturdays and provided a hand delivered estimate by Sunday picking up a contract and check the very same day. According to Bob "My competition never had a chance. By the time the met with the homeowner, a contract had already been signed". Bob's brother Joe joined the company in 1989 and started their kitchen business and showroom in 1993. In March of 1999 they built an 11,000 square foot showroom and warehouse which is where they are today.

 

Since joining the Case/Therma-Tru program, Bob has appreciated the help and guidance he's received, the marketing support, and the ability to streamline the sales process. "Case's forward thinking
